Trilogy
Every bespoke piece begins with an idea.
This trilogy ring was created to be completely unique, with each detail carefully considered from the initial design through to the final polish. From cleaning the stones to refining the setting and hand-finishing every element, the piece was brought to life through a combination of traditional craftsmanship, precision and care.
This page tells the story of how the ring was designed, made and finished.
The initial design centred around a classic trilogy setting, with a larger centre stone framed by two slightly smaller side stones to create a beautifully balanced profile. Diamond-set shoulders were added to continue the sparkle across the band, while the castle-style setting introduced a more distinctive, detailed finish.
From the side, the open gallery allows light to reach each of the three stones while keeping the design elegant and refined. The aim was to create a ring that felt timeless from the front, but revealed more intricate craftsmanship when viewed from every angle.
Refining the design in CAD
The ring was then developed in CAD, allowing every proportion, claw and stone setting to be refined before production. The trilogy setting and diamond-set band were modelled separately to ensure a precise fit, balanced profile and seamless finished design.
From Design to Form
Following the initial designs and CAD drawings, the ring was cast in two separate components: the trilogy setting and the Castel set band. Creating the piece this way allowed each part to be individually refined and polished before assembly.
The raw castings were carefully cleaned and shaped by hand, removing any surface texture and sharpening the finer details of the design. The proportions and alignment of both components were then assessed at the bench, ensuring the trilogy setting would sit perfectly above the band before the two sections were securely soldiered together.
The setting process
With the ring assembled, the stone setting could begin. Each shoulder diamond was individually seated and secured by hand before attention turned to the trilogy setting. The three principal diamonds were then carefully positioned, ensuring perfect alignment, even spacing and a balanced appearance from every angle.
Only once every stone was securely set did the ring begin to reveal its final character, transforming from a crafted gold mounting into the piece that had been envisioned from the very beginning
After the final polish and a thorough quality inspection, the ring was ready for its final reveal. Every diamond had been meticulously set, every surface refined by hand, and every detail carefully checked to ensure the piece met the highest standard.
